Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. META Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, pair of tongs; below leaf, [Α]ΘΑ. HN Italy 1583. Johnston C4.18. An attractive piece with a fine style head of Demeter. Light marks and surface crack on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
