LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 281-278 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 6.84 g, 7 h). [HPAKΛE]IΩN Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with Skylla hurling a stone; behind her neck, E. Rev. APIΣ Herakles standing facing, head to left, holding club in his right hand and bow and arrow in his left; lion skin draped over his left arm; to upper left, owl standing right. HN Italy 1385. Van Keuren 87. Struck on the usual short flan, otherwise, very fine.
