★ Apparently only the fourth known bronze coin of Jihan Timur ★

ISLAMIC, Mongols. Ilkhanids. Jahan Temur, AH 740-741 / AD 1339-1340. Fals (Bronze, 19 mm, 1.99 g), Khilat, without date. 'Sultan Temur Khan [...]' in Arabic. Rev. Legend in Arabic within inner field of six-pointed star. Album -. Leu Web Auction 14 (2020), 2055. Of the highest rarity and great importance, apparently only the fourth known bronze coin of Jihan Timur. Some areas of weakness and with a flan crack, otherwise, good fine.

This is just the fourth known bronze coin of Jihan Timur, who, through his father Alafrang, a son of Gaykhatu, was a direct descendant of the great Genghis Khan. However, Jihan was a mere puppet ruler of the Jalayirid Hasan Buzurg, who disposed him in 1340. His subsequent fate is unknown.
