★ A rare double dirham ★
ISLAMIC, Persia (Pre-Seljuq). Khujistanids. Ahmand ibn 'Abd Allah, circa AH 261-268 / AD 874-881. Double Dirham (Silver, 29 mm, 7.92 g, 12 h), possibly a donative issue. Citing the Abbasid caliph al-Mu'tamid billah and 'with peace and happiness' (in Kufic), Nishapur, AH 268 = AD 881/2. Album 1396. A very heavy example of this rare issue. Traces of mounting and with some scrapes, otherwise, about very fine.
