ISLAMIC, Egypt & Syria (Pre-Fatimid). Tulunids. Muhammad ibn Musa, governor of Cilicia, circa AH 280 / AD 893. Fals (Bronze, 20 mm, 1.90 g, 9 h), citing Muhammad ibn Musa ibn Tulun, Tulunid governor of Tarsus, without mint, probably struck in Tarsus, circa AH 280 = AD 893. Kalima in three lines; below, 'fard' ('excellent' in Kufic, related to the quality of the metal). Rev. 'That has been ordered by al-Amir Muhammad ibn Musa' (in Kufic). Album 669. Some deposits, otherwise, very fine.
