ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. Al-Mu'tamid, AH 256-279 / AD 870-892. Dinar (Gold, 21 mm, 4.18 g, 12 h), citing the caliph al-Mu'tamid 'ala Allah and the brother of the caliph, al-Muwaffaq 'ala Allah, Surra man Ra'a, AH 264 = AD 877/8. Bernardi 175JC. An extremely rare date. Scratched and the flan somewhat wavy, otherwise, very fine.
