Drachm (Silver, 32 mm, 3.61 g, 6 h), Arab Sasanian type, citing Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Bakra (AH 79-80 = AD 698-699), SK (Sistan), somewhat blundered AH 79 = AD 698/9. Crowned and draped Sasanian-style bust to right; behind head, AFZUT GDH ('may his kingship increase' in Pahlawi); before head, AWBYTALA / Y-ABWBAKRAN' (in Pahlawi); in outer margin, 'bism Allah' ('In the name of Allah') and 'Rabbi' ('my Lord') in Kufic. Rev. Fire altar with ribbons flanked by two attendants; in upper field to left, six-pointed star; in upper field to right, crescent; to left, date in Pahlawi; to right, SK (name of the mint in Pahlawi). Album 37. Malek, Arab-Sasanian, 1027. Slightly rough and with some deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
