Description

Michael VII Ducas, 1071-1078. Follis (Bronze, 25 mm, 6.40 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. Bust of Christ facing, bearded and with cross behind head, wearing tunic and himation, his right hand raised before breast in blessing and holding book of Gospels in his left; in upper fields, IC - XC; in left and right field, six-pointed star. Rev. +MIXAHΛ RACIΛ O Δ Crowned bust of Michael VII facing, wearing loros, holding labarum in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left. DOC 14. SB 1878. Repatinated and with traces of overstriking, otherwise, very fine.
