Description

Divus Vespasian, died 79. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.60 g, 6 h), Rome, struck under Titus, 80-81. DIVVS AVGVSTVS VESPASIANVS Laureate head of Divus Vespasian to right. Rev. Foreparts of two capricorns to left and right, back to back, supporting round shield inscribed S C; below, globe. BMC 129. Cohen 497. RIC 357. Lightly toned. Small edge crack, otherwise, very fine.
