Mark Antony and Octavia, 40-35 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 24 mm, 11.83 g, 12 h), Ephesus, summer-autumn 39. M•ANTONIVS•IMP•COS•DESIG•ITER•ET•TERT Head of Antony to right, wearing wreath of ivy; below, lituus; all within wreath of ivy and flowers. Rev. III•VIR• - R•P•C Draped bust of Octavia to right above cista mystica, flanked by interlaced serpents with heads erect. CRI 262. RPC I 2201. Sydenham 1197. Harshly cleaned and corroded and with some deposits, otherwise, very fine.

From a European collection, acquired before 2021.
