Description

★ Nicely toned and struck on a broad flan ★

Q. Servilius Caepio, 100 BC. Denarius (Silver, 21 mm, 3.89 g, 3 h), with Calpurnius Piso Caesoninus, Rome. PISO CAEPIO•Q Laureate and bearded head of Saturn to right; behind, harpa; to upper left, globe or star. Rev. AD•FRV•EMV / EX•S•C Two male figures seated on subsellium looking toward each other; on either side, grain ear. Babelon (Calpurnia) 5 and (Servilia) 12. Crawford 330/1b. RBW 1189. Sydenham 603a. Nicely toned and struck on a broad flan. Flan fault on the obverse and with light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
