Description

Elagabalus, 218-222. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 2.63 g, 6 h), Rome, 220-221. IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG Laureate and draped bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind. Rev. LIBERTAS AVG Libertas standing front, head to left, holding pileus in her right hand and vindicta in her left; in field to right, six-pointed star. BMC 220. Cohen 92. RIC 107. Thirion 272. Lightly toned. Minor deposits and die breaks, otherwise, virtually as struck.
