PHRYGIA. Synaus. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Assarion (Bronze, 20 mm, 4.74 g, 12 h), Aprius Marcellus, proconsul for the third time, and Apollophanes, archon. Time of Vespasian, 69-79. ΘЄΑΝ ΡΩΜΗΝ ЄΠΙ ΜΑΡΚЄΛΛΟΥ ΤΟ Γ Turreted and draped bust of Roma to right. Rev. ϹΥΝΑЄIΤΩΝ ΑΠΟΛΛΟΦΑΝΟΥ ΑΡΧ/ΟΝΤΟϹ Apollo standing front, head to right, holding bow in his left hand and drawing arrow from quiver with his right. BMC 1. RPC II 1371. Attractive earthen deposits. Very fine.
