PHRYGIA. Hierapolis. Philip II, as Caesar, 244-247. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 29 mm, 8.46 g, 6 h), Homonoia with Ephesus. Μ ΙΟΥΛ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟϹ ΚΑΙ Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II to right. Rev. ΙЄΡΑΠΟΛЄΙΤΩΝ Κ ЄΦЄϹΙΩΝ ΝЄΟΚΟΡΩΝ - ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ The city-goddesses of Hierapolis and Ephesus standing facing each other, clasping their right hands; each wearing mural crown and holding scepter. Franke & Nollé 679. RPC VIII online ID 20748.2 ( this coin ). Extremely rare, the finer of just two known examples. Some deposits, otherwise, very fine.
