Description

PHRYGIA. Acmoneia. Volusian, 251-253. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 29 mm, 9.10 g, 6 h). AYT•K•OYIB•AΦ•ΓAΛΛOC•OYOΛOYCIANOC Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Volusian to right, seen from behind. Rev. AKMO-NEΩN The hero Akmôn on horseback to right, galloping towards the Dindymos hill on which stand two Oreiades (nymphs); at the foot of the hill, river-god Sindros reclining left, head turned back to right. BMC 107-108. RPC IX 846. Flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
