KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes II ‘the Great’, 95-56 BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 19 mm, 5.60 g, 12 h), Artaxata, circa 96-80. Draped bust of Tigranes II to right, wearing tiara decorated with a star and tied with a diadem. Rev. [BAΣIΛEΩΣ / MEΓAΛOY - TIΓPANOY] Tigranes, wearing tiara, driving fast biga to left, holding whip or branch in his right hand and reins in his left. Kovacs 61. Very rare. Harshly cleaned and rough, otherwise, fine.
