Description

CILICIA. Hierapolis. 2nd-1st century BC. AE (Bronze, 20 mm, 6.32 g, 12 h). Turreted head of Tyche to right; to left, monogram. Rev. [IE]POΠOΛITΩN / [T]ΩΝ ΠΡΟC TΩ / ΠΥΡΑΜΩΙ Uncertain goddess seated left, holding scepter (?) in her left hand; below throne, eagle with closed wings standing left. SNG Levante 1564-5. SNG Paris 2207 var. (differing monogram). Minor pitting, otherwise, very fine.
