Description

KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.79 g, 12 h), Lampsakos, circa 297/6-286. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟY Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with lion's head; to outer left, herm to left; in inner left field, monogram. Meydancikkale 2614-2616. Müller 91. Thompson 50. Light marks and with minor flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
