SICILY. Himera. Circa 470-450 BC. Litra (Silver, 11 mm, 0.80 g, 7 h). Forepart of horned, human-headed creature, with curled wings and lion's paws, to right. Rev. Male figure riding goat to left, holding goat's horn in his right hand and lagobolon in his left. De Luynes 980. HGC 2, 451. SNG ANS 172-173. Nicely toned and of powerful late Archaic style. Somewhat porous, otherwise, good very fine.
