Description

BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 300 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.13 g, 6 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΚΡΟ Tripod with ornamental volutes below the bowl and legs ending in lion's paws; to right, filleted laurel branch. Attianese 144. HN Italy 2177. SNG ANS 392. Harshly cleaned and scratched, otherwise, very fine.

From the collection of Dr. D. Löer, formed since the 1970s, privately acquired from Frank S. Robinson and previously privately acquired from Pegasi (with original dealer's ticket).
