LOWER DANUBE. Uncertain tribe. 3rd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.70 g, 12 h), imitating Alexander III of Macedon. Celticized head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΑPΛ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, flower. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz 879-83 var. (differing symbols). OTA 568. Rare. Faint scratches and with a test cut on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
