Phocas, 602-610. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.49 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 607-609. δ N N FOCAS PERP AVC Draped and cuirassed bust of Phocas facing, wearing crown surmounted by cross and holding globus cruciger in his right hand. Rev. VICTORIA AVGЧ I / CONOB Angel standing facing, holding long linear staff surmounted by staurogram in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left. DOC 10j 6-8. MIBE 11. SB 620. Boldly struck, lustous and attractive. Minor flan faults (or traces of overstriking?) on the obverse, otherwise, virtually as struck.
