Description

Titus, as Caesar, 69-79. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.30 g, 6 h), Rome, 76. T CAESAR IMP VESPASIANVS Laureate head of Titus to right. Rev. IOVIS CVSTOS Jupiter standing facing, sacrificing from patera over lighted altar with his right hand and holding long scepter with his left. BMC 305. Cohen 106. RIC 874. Lightly toned. Some scratches, otherwise, nearly very fine.

From a collection formed in the Rhineland from the late 1970s to the late 1990s, privately acquired from Dr. Walter Kimpel (with original dealer's ticket).
