Description

Augustus, with Agrippa, 27 BC-AD 14. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 25 mm, 13.56 g, 6 h), Nemausus, circa 10-14. IMP / P - P / DIVI F Heads of Agrippa, on the left, wearing rostral crown and laurel wreath, and of Augustus, on the right, wearing oak-wreath, back to back. Rev. COL - NEM Crocodile to right, chained to large palm; above to left and right, wreath with long fillets; below, two branches. Cohen 8. RIC 159-61. RPC I 525. Minor deposits and somewhat smoothed, otherwise, about very fine.

From a collection formed in the Rhineland from the late 1970s to the late 1990s, privately acquired from Dr. Walter Kimpel (with original dealer's ticket).
