★ A very rare denarius of M. Plaetorius M.f. Cestianus ★
M. Plaetorius M.f. Cestianus, 57 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.94 g, 6 h), Rome. Draped female bust to left, wearing winged diadem; behind, flower (?). Rev. Pediment of temple decorated with anguipede figure standing front, raising its right hand and holding club (?) in its left, entablature inscribed M• PL AE TORI; below, CEST•S C. Babelon (Plaetoria) 9. Crawford 405/1b. RBW 1437. Sydenham 800a. Very rare. Minor flan faults and with die breaks on the obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
