★ Rare and very attractive ★

L. Scribonius Libo, 62 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.91 g, 5 h), Rome. BON EVENT LIBO Diademed head of Bonus Eventus to right. Rev. PVTEAL SCRIBON Garlanded Puteal Scribonianum (Scribonian wellhead), decorated with two lyres; anvil set on base. Babelon (Scribonia) 8. Crawford 416/1c. RBW 1502. Sydenham 928. Rare and very attractive. Struck slightly off center and with minor die breaks on the obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins and from the collection of E. E. Clain-Stefanelli, Numismatica Ars Classica 92, 23 May 2016, 1833 (with original ticket).
