Description

L. Flaminius Chilo, 109-108 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.89 g, 10 h), Rome. ROMA Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet; before, X (mark of value). Rev. L•FLAMINI / CILO Victory driving biga to right, holding wreath in her right hand and reins in her left. Babelon (Flaminia) 1. Crawford 302/1. RBW 1144. Sydenham 540. A well struck example with a lovely head of Roma. A few light marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, privately acquired from Colosseum Coin Exchange (with collector's and original dealer's ticket).
