C. Fonteius, 114-113 BC. Denarius (Silver, 22 mm, 3.84 g, 6 h), Rome. Laureate, janiform head of the Dioscuri; to lower left, V•; to lower right, ✱ (mark of value). Rev. C•FONT / ROMA Galley with steerman and three rowers to left. Babelon (Fonteia) 1. Crawford 290/1. RBW -. Sydenham 555. Double struck and with some roughness, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, privately acquired from The Time Machine (with collector's and original dealer's tickets).
