Description

L. Minucius, 133 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.86 g, 3 h), Rome. Head of Roma to right, wearing crested and winged helmet; behind, ✱ (mark of value). Rev. ROMA / [L•]MINVCI Jupiter driving fast quadriga to right, hurling thunderbolt with his right hand and holding scepter and reins in his left. Babelon (Minucia) 15. Crawford 248/1. RBW 1020. Sydenham 470. Minor flatness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, ex Martí Hervera/Soler y Llach 1066, 3 May 2011, 2538 (with collector's ticket).
