Description

Anonymous, circa 206-200. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 2.83 g, 12 h), uncertain mint. Head of Roma to right, wearing crested and winged helmet; behind, X (mark of value). Rev. ROMA (in partial linear frame) The Dioscuri, each holding spear, on horseback galloping right; above their heads, two stars; below, pentagram. Crawford 129/1. RBW 580. Sydenham 205. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, nearly very fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins, privately from London Ancient Coins (with original dealer's ticket).
