GERMANY. Colmar (?). Late 14th century. Vierzipfliger Hälbling (Silver, 13 mm, 0.25 g). Eagle with spread wings, head right. Rev. Incuse of obverse. Slg. Wüthr. 48 var. (head left). Very rare and nicely toned. Very fine.
From the collection of Dr. Max Blaschegg (1930-2021, with collector’s ticket), ex Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 75, 24-25 November 2015, 3649.
The low weight and the fact that the eagle's head is turned to the right instead of to the left make the attribution of this coin to Colmar tentative.
