AXUM. Hataz, before 620 and after 630. AE (Bronze, 15 mm, 1.30 g, 5 h). Draped bust of Hataz facing, wearing decorated headcloth, flanked by two large crosses and ears of barley; above, small cross. Rev. ✠HϞΓⲰҺnmB ('Hatam, king of Axum' in Ge'ez) Large cross within octagonal border. Hahn, MAKS, 94. Hahn, Aksumite, 66. Rare. A lovely example with attractive earthen highlights and in exceptional condition for this difficult issue. Good very fine.
