BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Antialkidas, circa 130-120 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 2.45 g, 1 h), Indian standard, uncertain mint in Paropamisadai or Gandhara. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΝΙΚΗΦΟΡΟΥ / ΑΝΤΙΑΛΚΙΔΟΥ Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Antialkidas to right. Rev. 'Maharajasa jayadharasa Amtialkidasa' (in Karoshti) Zeus seated facing slightly to left, holding Nike in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, forepart of elephant to right; below throne, monogram. Bopearachchi 9A. HGC 12, 255. Beautifully toned and with a portrait of fine style. Light deposits, otherwise, about extremely fine.
