Description

CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Treveri. Mid 1st century BC. Quinarius (Silver, 11 mm, 1.63 g, 4 h), 'Marberg' type. Male figure seated to left, with tree to left, serpent below and circlets around. Rev. Horse standing left, surrounded by pellets and annulets. DT 202. Flesche 250. LT 9383. SLM 1108-1112. Darkly toned and unusually well centered, an attractive piece. Nearly extremely fine.
