Diocletian, 284-305. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 24 mm, 3.37 g, 6 h), Lugdunum, 290-291. IMP DIOCLETIANVS AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to left, holding spear over his right shoulder and shield on his left. Rev. IOVI AVGG / A Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding Victory on globe in his right hand and long scepter in his left; at feet to left, eagle. Bastien 319. Cohen 162. RIC 27. An attractive piece with an interesting military bust type. Light corrosion on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
