★ A beautiful Byzantine medaillon ★

Anonymous, circa 12th-14th centuries. Medallion (Silver, 20 mm, 1.08 g, 12 h). HC - XC Bust of Christ Pantokrator facing, wearing nimbus cruciger, each arm of the cross decorated with pearls, holding book of Gospels in his left hand and raising his right in benediction. Rev. Bank. Cf. Leu Web Auction 15 (2021), 2775 (larger size). A beautiful Byzantine medaillon with gold, silver and niello inlays. Some deposits and scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
