★ A beautifully toned denarius of Cn. Domitius Ahenobarbus, 128 BC ★

Cn. Domitius Ahenobarbus, 128 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 4.00 g, 6 h), Rome. Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet; behind, grain ear; before, ✱. Rev. ROMA / CN•DOM Victory in biga to right, holding whip in her right hand and reins in her left; below, man fighting lion. Babelon (Domitia) 14. Crawford 261/1. RBW 1056. Sydenham 514. Beautifully toned. The obverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
