Description

★ Nicely toned and with a particularly sharp obverse ★

KINGS OF PERSIS. Artaxerxes (Ardaxshir) II, late 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 21 mm, 3.49 g, 7 h), Istakhr (Persepolis). Draped bust of Artaxerxes II to left, wearing mural crown and diadem; in field to right, monogram above star in crescent. Rev. Artaxerxes II standing left, holding scepter and sacrificing before altar to left. Alram 570/573. Klose & Müseler 4/10d. Sunrise -. Van't Haaff 570/573.2-2. A nicely toned example with a particularly sharp obverse. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
