Description
MACEDON. Akanthos. Circa 470-430 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.46 g, 10 h). Lion to right, attacking a bull collapsing to left with head raised; in exergue, tunny swimming to left. Rev. ΑΚΑ-Ν-ΘΙΟ-Ν Raised quadripartite square surrounded by inscription; all within shallow incuse square. Desneux - (D96/R99). HGC 3.1, 385. Harshly cleaned, otherwise, good very fine.
