SICILY. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. Litra (Bronze, 22 mm, 7.84 g, 7 h), circa 308/7. ΣYPAKOΣIΩN Diademed head of Herakles to right; to left, star. Rev. Lion standing right, raising left foreleg; above, club; in exergue, spear (?). BAR Issue 24. CNS II -, cf. 151 (differing symbols). HGC 2, 1465 var. (differing symbols). An extremely rare variety. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, good very fine.
