Description

SOUTHERN GAUL. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 14 mm, 4.00 g), imitating Rhode. Celticized head of Persephone to left, wearing wreath of grain leaves and triple pendant earring. Rev. Rose seen from above, with a large central pellet and divided into four segments by a cross with floral pattern. Flesche -. LT 2325. SLM 63. Rare. Struck from worn dies, otherwise, fine.

From the Joachim Schlüter Collection of Celtic coins, privately acquired from CGB in 2020.
