Description

Tiberius, 14-37. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 36 mm, 24.74 g, 7 h), Rome, 36-37. Hexastyle temple with flanking wings and statue of Concordia in the center, seated to left on base, holding patera in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left; on flanking podia, statues of Apollo and Hercules; above pediment, statues of Jupiter between Juno and Minerva, Diana, Ceres and two Victories; at the top of each wing, statue of Victory. Rev. TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST P M TR POT XXXIIX around large S C. BMC 133. CBN 119. Cohen 70. RIC 67. Somewhat rough and with minor deposits, otherwise, very fine.
