CARIA. Kasolaba. Circa 410-390 BC. Obol (Silver, 7 mm, 0.52 g, 5 h). Head of a ram to right. Rev. Youthful male head to right; to left, 𐋃; to right, A (?); all within circular incuse. HN online 945. Konuk, Kasolaba 7. SNG Keckman I, 874. The reverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, very fine.
Following a reinterpreted reading of the letter 𐋃 as 'z' by I.-J. Adiego, Konuk ascribes this enigmatic issue to Kasolaba, a hitherto unlocated city known from Athenian tribute lists to have been situated somewhere between Halikarnassos and Mylasa.
