INDIA, Medieval. Kalachuris of Tripuri. Gangeya Deva, circa 1015-1041. Stater (Electrum, 18 mm, 4.00 g, 10 h). Goddess Lakshmi seated facing. Rev. SRIMAD GANGEYADEVAH ('The fortunate Gangeyadevah' in Devanagari). Deyell, Living Without Silver, 120. Minor flan crack, otherwise, good very fine.

The image of a seated Lakshmi on the gold coins of Gangeya Deva was copied from the earlier Gupta coinage.
