Carausius, Romano-British Emperor, 286-293. Antoninianus (Bronze, 25 mm, 4.40 g, 6 h), uncertain mint (Camulodunum?), 292-293. IMP C CARAVSIVS P F AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius to right. Rev. PAX AVG / S - P Pax standing front, head to left, holding olive branch in her right hand and long transverse scepter in her left. Cohen 215. RIC 484. Webb 540. An attractive example with a beautiful dark patina and a splendid portrait. Very light doubling and minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
