Gallienus, 253-268. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 23 mm, 3.00 g, 5 h), Siscia, 263. GALLIENVS AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right, with shield on left shoulder; cuirass decorated with emperor on horseback galloping right, spearing seated enemy and followed by Victory (?). Rev. IO CANTAB Jupiter standing front in military attire, head to left, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. Cohen -. MIR 1395aa² (1 example). RIC 573. Extremely rare and with a very unusual bust type. Struck from a worn reverse die and with minor corrosion, otherwise, nearly very fine.
