Description

Gallienus, 253-268. Antoninianus (Billon, 20 mm, 2.47 g, 7 h), Mediolanum, 262. GALLIENVS AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right. Rev. VIRTVS AVG Hercules standing front, head to left, holding branch in his right hand and club in his left, lion skin draped over his left arm; in field to left, S. Cohen 1254. MIR 1045r (2 examples). RIC 537. Extremely rare. Struck from a worn obverse die and somewhat porous, otherwise, good fine.
