Description

INDIA, Post-Mauryan (Punjab). Audumbaras. 1st century BC. AE (Bronze, 14x15 mm, 2.87 g). ODUBARISA MAHADEVASA RAJNA RUDRADASASA ('of the great king of the Audumbara Rudradasa' in Brahmi) Domed Hindu temple or stupa building with trident to right. Rev. On the left, tree-in-railing and on the right, forepart of elephant to left; around, legend in Kharoshthi. Pieper 1147. Very rare. Areas of weakness and with minor deposits, otherwise, about very fine.
