★ A lightly toned tetradrachm of Ptolemy XII ★

PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos (Auletes), 80-58 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 14.00 g, 12 h), Alexandria, RY 7 = 75/4. Diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, wearing aegis around neck. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΠTOΛEMAIOY / L Ζ - ΠA Eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt. Noeske 334. SNG Copenhagen 380. Svoronos 1854. A lightly toned and attractive piece. The obverse struck from a worn die, otherwise, about extremely fine.
