Description

INDIA, Mauryan Empire. Circa 3rd-2nd centuries BC. Mashaka (Silver, 4 mm, 0.11 g). Taurine symbol. Rev. Blank. HGC 12, 965. Pieper 181. About very fine.

The mashakas were the smallest coins issued in ancient India. They were issued until the Sunga period (185-75 BC).
